Lost DB root password

Hello,

I have lost the DB root password for our osTicket system we have setup at our company. I was reading older forum posts here about there may be a .php file that has the credentials in plain text there. I wasn't sure if that is still the case on this version since I am having trouble finding it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or let me know if I am wasting my time?

The config file will be in the include/ folder of your osTicket installation. It will be called config.php or ostconfig.php (if it’s a really old install) or it will be called ost-config.php.

KevinTheJedi Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I don't see any of those file names in that folder. I do see a ost-sampleconfig.php file, but the credentials in that look like placeholders.

Then you are either looking at the wrong directory (ie. not the right installation) or someone has removed/deleted it.

If you can still access the installation and load data then it is running and that would mean you are looking at the wrong place.

You were right. I was looking in the wrong place. I found the correct installation location and found the ost-config.php file with everything I needed. Thanks for your help!
