Saved search issue - not working with custom field

I have an odd issue. Not getting any data after adding the saved search with custom field. Also getting some strange overlay on drop down - happens on Open, My Tickets, Closed, Search. This only happens with the saved custom search. When I mouse over the drop down the one to the right drops to the bottom. The screenshot shows the strange issue. Has anyone seen this before?

Everything else seems to be working ok. This started happening after I upgraded to 1.18.1 - previous version 1.17.2 was ok.

That either means it’s not done loading yet or has a fatal error. You need to check the request in the browser to see if it completes or loads forever. If it loads forever then you can enable and check your MySQL slow query logs to see if there are any long running queries. If it finishes loading then you need to check your various error logs for any related errors.

Thanks for the quick response. I checked the log and didn't see any fatal error. No long running query on in SQL. The DB is quite small _125MB.

The overlay issue appears right after you hit save with a custom field (list) in the search. I can reload the page and it goes back to normal. Existing saved searches are all working fine.

If I edit the problematic custom search and remove the custom field (list), hit save, then that particular search will work and display the count next to it. No issue with overlay. Creating any new search or editing existing one and adding the custom list field will break the saved search and create the overlay.

So it's only happening with a Custom List added to the Search Criteria? Can you show a screenshot of the Search Criteria and the List Items and any List Properties?

Yes it is happening only for custom list. Here's the simple search criteria. TicketStatus is a default field and it works fine. Once I select anything from the custom list - Ticket Type, it will fail with the issue described.

I was able to resolve the issue with some hint from this (https://github.com/osTicket/osTicket/pull/4124/files) by comparing the files include\class.dynamic_forms.php and include\class.forms.php from previous working version. The change added (highlighted in red) on version 1.18.1 broke the search. removing the red section fixed the issue.

It didn't return any error, just nothing found and the strange overlay screenshots that I posted. This only happened on save advance search with custom list.

There should've been an error logged somewhere or a long running query. It would be helpful if you can find that specific error/long running query so we can take a deeper look. You just reverted needed changes so you basically applied a band-aid instead of fixing the root cause.
