Retrieving emails from gmail with IMAP

I'm trying to retrieve emails from a gmail address using IMAP and I'm running into issues when trying to set up the remote mailbox tab details. I tried using OAuto2 plugin with google, but I'm unsure if that is the correct way to do this or not. I tried basic/legacy auth as well, but that just said wrong username or password, so I assume google cut the cord on basic auth just liked microsoft.

On another installation I was able to get O365 emails to work, so I assumed the process was similar but I'm unsure where in gmail these settings may be, is there a guide out there or is this no longer possible?

I love osTicket, thanks for being around for so long and giving us a great product!

It’s relatively easy to configure. Just follow each step exactly as it states and you should be fine.

A key note is that OAuth2 does require the URL Rewrite module to be installed/enabled on the webserver.

Thanks Kevin, this all went smoothly and I got success banners, but it's looking like emails still are not being pulled from the inbox. The token is showing successfully in the email config for the right email address I set up, but when sending an email to the Gmail address, it's not converting them to tickets. OsTicket logs don't show any issue, I manually ran the cron without errors (just trying everything I've seen suggested elsewhere).

Is there another log that I should be looking at, or something else you might suggest I take a look at?

I also forgot to note that sending from SMTP with the same remote mailbox authentication is working fine.

Silly question but did you enable Email Fetching at both the email level and system level? Check Admin Panel > Emails > Settings > Email Fetching and ensure you have the Enable checkbox is checked (enabled). You should also check your system logs (Admin Panel > Dashboard > System Logs) for any Mail Fetcher errors. Lastly, you can check the _email_account table for any errors in the last_error_msg column.

Oh man, apparently it wasn't THAT silly... That was it!

I swear I searched and followed everything, sorry about that 🙂 Thank you so much for all your help, I've been using OsTicket in some fashion since the beginning and it continues to impress me!
