smtp error 5.7.8 Invalid authentication mechanism

Hello,
i have this version v1.17.2 (8fbc7ee),
but i not I am unable to configure an email, company mail server, with the following parameters

POP3 carries 995 TLS or STARTLS encryption.
SMTP carries 587 TLS or STARTLS encryption.

pop3/imap ok
smtp this error: 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: Invalid authentication mechanism

the credential is ok

please help me

Apparently it does not like the auth method. Do not type-hint an auth method. Simply input the host name and port number. If that still fails then you need to contact your mail provider for the correct information to use.

the mail server supports SMTP authentication with PLAIN method.
Can I set SMTP authentication with PLAIN method in osticket?

Please help me!

Simply type-hint PLAIN auth (eg. plain://hostname).

My guess would be that your mail server does not actually accept PLAIN.
