Search box not show results

Hello,

I'm usint osTicket 1.17 with mysql, not mariadb.

The search field appears to not be working correctly. When I search for a word in the subject, it doesn't display anything. However, when I click on "Advanced search" and enter the same word, it does find results. I've performed a reindexing of the ost__search table, but the issue persists.

How can I enable it to search by any word in subject in the search field??

Care to show screenshots? I cannot replicate this. Search is working just fine.

I apologize; I didn't explain the issue correctly. What's actually happening is that it's not searching within the content of the subject line. For example, if the subject line contains the word XJD4829 and we search for it that way, it finds it. However, if we search for just D4829, it doesn't find it. We've also noticed that it doesn't find words in the subject line that consist solely of numbers.

Exactly, you have to wrap number searches in double quotes to search through ticket content. Otherwise it will only search ticket numbers.

Also, it will not search for partial matches, only exact matches. Reason being is we use MATCH (...) AGAINST (...) IN NATURAL LANGUAGE MODE FOR MySQL Full-Text Searches. You can supply an operator to make it use MATCH (...) AGAINST (...) IN BOOLEAN MODE but that still won't help as you can't use the wildcard operator (ie. %).
