Hey there,

Firstly, I hope everyone's doing well and having a great day!

I've recently come across multiple mentions about the much-anticipated osTicket v2.0. The buzz and excitement surrounding it has certainly piqued my interest, and I've been trying to get a clearer understanding of its development stage through the roadmap. However, I must admit, I'm still a tad bit unclear about where we currently stand with its progress.

Given the passion I see in this community and the potential of v2.0, I was wondering if there's any way I, or any of us enthusiasts, can assist or support the development team? Whether it's beta testing, providing feedback, or even just moral support (because who doesn't love a bit of cheerleading?), I'm genuinely eager to help in any way possible. The thought of potentially speeding up the process and contributing to something wonderful for all of us is genuinely exciting!

If anyone can provide a bit more insight into the state of development and how we can be of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's to making osTicket v2.0 an outstanding success for our community!

Warmest regards and best wishes,

Chris

Currently it is all closed source so there is no way to contribute yet. Once we have the codebase public the community will be able to contribute. Keep in mind this is an entire, full codebase rewrite (literally everything is being rewritten) so this will take some time before we have it in a position to make it public. We hope that as soon as we have an RC we will make it public. The backend is Laravel and the frontend is ReactJS.

    Cheers.

KevinTheJedi - Thanks for further information, plus I'm sure many would echo the sentiments of @DarkTexas. The proverbial elephant in the room however is a rough time frame?

Are we talking about a potential 2023 beta release or 2024 or 2025?

We simply don’t know at this time. As we make further progress we will be able to provide a timeline for an RC. I will say it’s making wonderful progress so far. It is super snappy and very responsive.

        Cheers.
