Setting Up O365 Email

We are currently running v1.16 on our local Windows Server.
Emails work fine. Here are the settings:

Setting up v1.18 on a hosted server to allow ticketing off-prem.
Followed the Microsoft Authorization Guide, and everything seems to auth just fine in the osTicket settings.
But I am unable to send emails. If I go into the SMPT settings - disable and then enable - I get this error:
5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful

Logs show: Unable to email via Sendmail Unable to send mail: Unknown error

SMPT auth is enabled for the account in Outlook Admin.

What else should I be looking for?

You need to show screenshot of your SMTP configurations on the new server where it's not working.

My apologies - I must have forgotten to upload them
For protocol - I've tried both POP and IMAP
For Outgoing SMTP - I've tried setting auth 'Same as Remote Mailbox' and doing the Microsoft Auth config again. I've also tried 'smtp.office365' and 'outlook.office365'. Same results either way

When you were directed to Microsoft after submitting the OAuth2 config popup, did you login as the email you are configuring? Do you have "Authenticated SMTP" enabled for the mailbox in O365? Did you add the Microsoft Graph (delegated) SMTP API permission in the App Registration and provide Admin Consent?

Correct Fetching information:
Hostname: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
Protocol: IMAP
Authentication: OAuth2 - Microsoft (with token successfully retrieved)
Status: Enable
Fetched Emails: Archive - Move to folder

Correct SMTP information should be:
Status: Enable
Hostname: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
Authentication: Same as remote mailbox

Yes to all - except give admin consent! That's greyed out for me. Could be that my account can't do it.
Everything else is as you described, including the login with the email that's being setup.

The 1.16 setup still works without any issues. Do I have to use the Microsoft Auth setup for 1.18? I tried setting it up using the 'legacy' authentication in 1.18 and entering the login info, but it doesn't work. I take it 1.18 has different requirements?

Microsoft disabled basic auth in October last year. They force you to use modern auth now.

Yea you need a global admin to go provide consent for the api permissions. Then you will need to delete the current token and get a new token.

Oddly, the old auth still works on 1.16 for us. That's what I have been using - but I'm leaning on Microsoft's tomfoolery, as per usual.

Hello,
i am about to setup oAuth and install the oAUTH2 osTicket plugin.
I would like to use oAUTH just for SMTP authentication and not for agent or user login.
My question is, do i have to go through the whole process of registering an application from the Azure portal as described here : https://docs.osticket.com/en/latest/OAuth2/Microsoft%20Authentication%20(SSO)%20Guide.html ?
