Can not get email fetching working

Hi all,

osticket newbie here. I have installed OST 1.18 via "git clone" as download link never worked for me. This is a ubuntu22 and all looks working nicely, except email fetching.

I have added the the following to the crontab. Crontab log shows it is running every 5 minutes.
*/5 * * * * root /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/api/cron.php

What can I check to see while email fetching is not working? Is there a log which shows the details of email fetching

P.S. I am also having problems getting fetched emails archived, I get "can not create folder" error. But I guess that is something else.

Make sure the path to PHP you are using for cron actually points to PHP 8.1. Remove the word "Inbox" from the Mail Folder (we fetch from there by default if blank). And for the archive folder make sure you create the folder first and if you still get issues try INBOX.folder_name.
