IMAP connection issues on 1.17.3

Hello Everyone,
after fresh installation of 1.17.3 i cannot get IMAP connection to work. I can log in using the Webmailer and Outlook, but not get osTicket to work.

OS is Rocky Linux 9

We're using a on-premise mailserver (mailcow), where i can log on to the webmailer and even Outlook. But for some reason osTicket refuses, this error message is being shown:

osTicket-Server is on the whitelist on the mailcow-server.

Any ideas?

Log from the mailserver upon trying to log in:

imap-login: Disconnected: Connection closed: SSL_accept() failed: error:14094418:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert unknown ca: SSL alert number 48 (no auth attempts in 0 secs): user=<>, rip=10.0.0.169, lip=172.22.1.250, TLS handshaking: SSL_accept() failed: error:14094418:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:tlsv1 alert unknown ca: SSL alert number 48

Check your firewall, ports, etc. on the webserver to make sure it can connect. Also, try doing a telnet to the host and port from the server to confirm it can connect.

Ports are open on the mailserver:

995/tcp open pop3s

Telnet to mailserver:

[root@helpdesk ~]# telnet mailserver.local 993
Trying 10.0.1.10...
Connected to mailserver.local.
Escape character is '^]'.

The mailserver uses a self signed cert. Does that cause problems?

Yea that might cause an issue; although I've never tried one like that so can't confirm 100%.

Is there a way to convince osTicket to just accept the certs?

Just to add: We can logon to our mailserver with the old 1.16.3 version of osTicket.
