smtp configuration is not working

I recently upgraded to version 1.7.13, then sending mail stopped working

I just need to correctly configure the mailing for notifications and alerts:

for sending mail we use a distribution list with delegation to a user account

But when i tried to use the tool Test Outgoing Email, i got this:

SMTP on Port 587 requires authentication. You have yours set to None. If you have authentication configured for the Remote Mailbox tab simply set the SMTP auth to Same as remote mailbox and Save Changes. If that saves successfully retry the diagnostic email and see if it sends.

Basic Authentication (Legacy) need an account and password, what should i do?

If you need no authentication then that’s typically a relay and MS relay port is 25. Just make sure you set the email to No Authentication and Port 25. Otherwise you’ll need to contact your mail provider for further assistance.

I thought that MS required SMTP Auth these days?

ntozier They do. We do the same trick using a distro group under a send as name and it doesn't work without the main account auth creds in there. Although, that could be specific to our O365 setup though.

Refer to this from Microsoft they're phasing out Basic Auth for SMTP altogether by June. I recommend configuring OAuth2 or Same as Remote for SMTP. You could also try smtp-legacy.office365.com, but I would prefer not to configure a temporary host for your system emails.

The error actually is saying you did not properly add the Redirect URI from osTicket to the App Registration in Azure Portal. Please follow our documentation exactly step-by-step.

The error "Redirect URI does not match" with localhost most likely means the rewrite mod is not enabled in your apache server for this site.
Double check the URI Redirect path in your email IdP config and the URI redirect path in your Azure Web App registration. They must be exactly the same.
