Old System Upgrade

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade v1.10.1 to V1.17.2 on our current server? Our system is 5 years old, and Microsoft will disable basic authentication next month, the email we set up before will no longer work. Since V1.17.2. support OAuth 2, could you please tell me if is there a way to upgrade our system without affecting our end-user? I found that inside the Server Information section, it only suggests upgrade to V1.10.7. Can I upgrade to V1.17.2 by following the guide video on "how to upgrade OS Ticket" that OS Ticket provided? Thank you.

Yes, but you will need to upgrade PHP to 8.0 or 8.1 in order to upgrade osTicket to v1.17.2. So the process would be to:

Turn the helpdesk Offline and Disable Email Fetching Globally
Disable any cron job/scheduled task
Take a full backup of the database and code files
Upgrade PHP
Copy over the new code files and ANY new builds of the plugins you have currently installed
Login to osTicket
Run the upgrader
