The ability to connect Excel or other tools to the osTicket database for reporting and dashboard purposes is a wonderful feature of osTicket. To make this easier, I'm suggesting a feature in which a DB view is automatically created for each ticket queue. Then, the external tool can simply query this view and be assured that the data will be there.

Currently, this is possible to do manually, of course. But a feature like this would drastically extend "reporting out of the box" capabilities. And, it would eliminate the often complex work of working with the correct tables and columns.

Thank you.

We have Reporting features slated for post-v2.0 release. No set date or anything when this will be added but v2.0 will be just core functionality of legacy (current) codebase at first then we will start adding more and more features.

You can follow the Roadmap here:

    Cheers.

Idea: one of the other gurus could write a standalone program that would take a queue name as input and add the view to the database. Please, please, please...

None of us here on the core team has any time for that but maybe one of the community members can.

You would obviously have to use that at your own risk as the code was not written by us nor verified, etc.

      Cheers.
