That worked! Yes - I remember running into this "strict" mode before. That worked with a tweak to your code, the "set" statement has to be: SET @@Global.sql_mode = '': (needs to be prefixed with the @@).

As for the copy/paste of a screenshot, I have tried this on multiple machines and multiple users (2 users have tried this and face the same results). I also tried Firefox and a Chromium browser....to no avail.
I have restarted the webserver too.

Sorry, totally skipped over that part. Yes, the @@ is required when setting global/session variables.

Okay, can you upload a non-working image so I can try to replicate? This will be the only way I can try to replicate the issue as all my images and such work.

Also, how are you copying the image in the first place? From a Word document, screenshot, etc.

You are having some really weird issues. Can you completely replace the code, restart the server, use a completely different browser, and retest? Or setup a completely new install on another directory and test there? It might be an issue with copying/replacing the files for the upgrade.

Also, can you paste the image in notepad or something and then copy from there and paste it?

So - so to replace the code...I need to keep my web.config file and probably my .htaccess file?

Not unless you modified them. You need to keep include/ost-config.php.

Ok - done. Deleted everything except the ost-config.php file and re-downloaded 1.17.2 with the plugins. The copy/paste is still doing the same thing. I used a new browser, new machine that hasn't been on osTicket yet. and we still cannot copy and paste images inline.

No errors anywhere? (general server logs, webserver error logs, PHP error logs, MySQL/MariaDB error logs, osTicket System Logs, Browser Console logs, etc.)

Also, are you using a different storage backend for attachments like the Filesystem or S3? (storage plugins)

I have osTicket set to debug logging now and nothing in there except a "Cron Job".
The PHP Error log is empty. No errors in SQL that I can find either.
So - when I go upload a picture, even that doesn't work. But if I choose an existing image using the "Choose" tab in the Image browser, then it works.
And no, I'm not using a different storage than then default.

What version of PHP? I'm starting to wonder if it's an issue with the database like the image data is being sent to the backend for upload but then fails to. Being that your ost_note table was randomly missing I suspect something is going on with the database. But you said existing ones work so I'm not sure exactly what to think here.

Can you try setting up just a brand new install from scratch in a separate directory and see if you get the same issue?

Yeah - I'm concerned about that too. Here is the version info:

So - when you say, brand new install, do you mean a brand new DB too?

Yes, just a blank new install from scratch so we can see if it's something related to your current database or with the code in the other folder or the environment as a whole.

OK I will work on that. I have never worked much with PHP so I'll have to figure out how to set up a 2nd PHP site on this same server.

@KevinTheJedi - this is now resolved. Turns out that it was a PHP misconfiguration. The site seems rock solid now. Thank you for all of your help!
