Is this update a straight drop-in over the top of 1.17 or is there some database updating requiring MySQL permissions to be changed? Thank you.

Same as usual minus you will not be brought to an upgrader screen. Minor upgrades do not require database patches and therefore does not require the upgrader to run. Simply replace the code and you're good.

Just to confirm: Can I always assume that any update from 1.17.x to 1.17.y will be this simple?
As I mentioned earlier it's "any minor upgrades" so anything like 1.17 -> 1.17.1
