Currently setup requires 2FA authentication Plugin installed. So far it would appear the issue issue was two fold the first being 2FA, second TLS.

Providers have suggested using MAPI over HTTPS pending possible EOL for imap/pop3 and active tenants which is not the most immediate concern however also important whether or not this will impact future pliability of the fetch mail feature.

IMAP connection broken (server response) could mean that IMAP isn't enabled.
If you are using something like O365 you might need to enable MAPI on the account.
You might need to upgrade and install the Authentication :: Oauth2 plugin.
