FASTCGI error, php version

I hope you can help, I am looking to setup osTicket on a trial basis as we are looking to move to a new helpdesk system. This is being installed on a windows server 2019 server.

I am running through your video on how to setup up, got as far as setting up the website and when I clicked on browse from IIS Manager it told me I needed v. 8 of PHP. I have installed this but now when I click on browse from IIS Manager I get the attached
error.
Any help greatly appreciated.

You’ll need to check your logs (general server logs, webserver error logs, PHP error logs, MySQL/MariaDB error logs, osTicket System Logs, Browser Console logs, etc.) for any related errors. 500 is generic and typically indicative of deeper issues.

I've checked and found this in the IIS logs:-

The Application Host Helper Service encountered an error trying to delete the history directory 'C:\inetpub\history\CFGHISTORY_0000000012'. The directory will be skipped and ignored. Note that the directory may still get deleted in the future if the service restarts. The data field contains the error number."

Does this help in finding the cause please? If I flick PHP back to the old 7.3 v. then I do not get the error, but of course the helpdesk says it needs v. 8 of PHP.

Ive restarted services and also done a full reboot of the server,

Looks like I have sorted this, tried multiple v. of PHP and eventually one did work. 🙂

I never got PHP 8 running under IIS (Server 2019) to work.
I actually gave up and switched to Linux.
