I want to enable the autoresponder so that when someone emails a reply, the system will email them a confirmation that it was received and added to the ticket (fetched by osticket).

However, if they manually go into the ticket and add a reply (in other words, not responding via email reply), I don't want a confirmation/auto responder sent to them as that makes no sense. They just went into the ticket and added a reply so of course they don't need a confirmation.

Is this possible to only have a response when an email has been fetched? Or is the only current implementation that it will auto respond to the submitter regardless of how?

I think that this is either on or off.
A new message can be submitted via email or via the web UI.
If on, it sends a email.
if off, it does not.
