Can someone give me a 101 summary of email settings for 17rcx?

I have 17.rc3 now. Does anyone have a summary of exactly what to set up for email to connect?

There are lots of ways to setup email, and it is not clear how you want to do it.

ntozier With modern auth. Just pulling email from an Exchange account. Same as osticket would do with basic auth pre 1.17.

That pop3 and imap set up isn't going to work anymore with modern right?

Yea with modern authentication it uses OAuth2 so a completely different method than basic authentication. They are also turning off basic authentication support in a few months which is why we are working on 1.17.x. We do not have any guides on how to set it up yet but that will be coming after the stable release.

For the most part you can follow your provider’s documentation on modern auth setup for web apps and in osTicket it’s pretty trivial you just plug in information from your provider. You can also search for the other threads on this forum as community members have shared how they set theirs up.
