I just tested a new install for v1.16.3 with PHP 8.0.13, MySQL 8.0.28, and Apache 2.4.51 on CentOS Stream 9. I could not replicate this issue so I'm unsure what's going on exactly.

Can you please list your installed system packages (PHP, Apache, and MySQL) with the exact version numbers? Also, list what distribution of linux you are using.

Ahhh, that's your issue. 1.16.x requires PHP 8.0.x. Please always check the requirements before installing/upgrading. You must downgrade your PHP to 8.0.x and you should be good.

Always use the packaged version available on our website if possible. Retest using the packaged version on our website and see if that works.

On the installer page where it checks your prerequisites do you see it saying PHP 8.0.20 or PHP 8.1.7? It could be that your site is still running PHP 8.1.

You probably have an Apache config that is pointing to a specific version of PHP. You most likely need to update that config to point to PHP 8.0 and then restart Apache.

I don’t know what distro of Linux you are running but you should be able to do a quick search on how to change the PHP version for Apache on your distro.
