custom form field sort by value name

Hello,
I have a custom form field of type 'Choices' which needs to be of the 'key:value' format, and right now the sorting is done on the keys. This is strange because the user never sees the keys and the result is very confusing. Is it possible to sort the choices by value?

I can't remember how it actually orders them so maybe try rearranging them in the order you want and see if that works?

I'm not real clear on what it is that you are asking.

I was adding a key:value line at the bottom of the choices field and the keys happen to be in ascending order, but not the values. So I thought that the sorting was done on the keys but in reality it was just the order I write the key:value lines. I rearrange the lines and now they are shown to the users as I want.
