  1. I was wondering if there was a way to add a print option when closing a ticket, currently I first close a ticket then nav to the closed list and re-open the ticket to print, is there a simpler option?

  2. i am not sure where to check settings for ticket reply emails, currently the user and admin receive a new ticket notice email when creating a ticket, but no email for a reply to the user or admin on updating the ticket.

any help will be much appeciated.

forgot to add that tickets are created and updated by agents only, through the agent panel. Users do not email in to osticket at all.
I need to email the user with the response and also print or export to PDF when closed status s applied.

For 1.
There is not option to add that to a ticket... but you can go into your agent profile and change the "Reply Redirect" setting on your account to redirect you to the ticket instead of the Queue.

For 2.
Response alerts are in two different places.

User
Admin panel -> Settings -> Tickets and click on the Autoresponder tab.

Agent
Admin panel -> Settings -> Tickets and click on the Alerts & Notices tab.

    Thank you, the redirect will work for the printing solution.
    Please see the attached mage for the reply settings, I have them all selected yet replies do not send off to the user or agent...

    If you have it enabled and emails are not going out then it would stand to reason that your email configuration is wrong, or that you are trying to use PHPMail and the webserver is rejecting it or not configured to allow it.
