How can I translate the Google Authenticator plugin so that it works?

I want the instructions: "Authenticator 2FA Setup
Complete the form below and then click Next to verify the setup

Use an Authenticator application on your phone to scan the QR Code below. If you lose the QR Code on the app, you will need to have your 2FA configurations reset by a helpdesk Administrator." to translate into German, Also the prompt when entering the password.

If the plugin is edited, it can no longer be used.

I guess that you are saying that the 2FA plugin is only in English for you and you want it in a different language.
Looking at the source it looks to me like it should be translating.
Did you upgrade to the latest language packs?

If so, then maybe the new plugin hadn't been added to the language packs yet. Your options would be:
Wait until they are added to the language files, add the strings yourself, or edit the core files of the plugin to have it appear in whatever language you want [but they it wouldn't translate anymore].

I installed the last language pack. There are no changes.

I have confirmed that the language packs have not been updated yet to include the new strings. So your options are still the same.
