SMTP SENDING PROBLEM - sending emails via SMTP

Save, I'm having trouble with being unable to set up an External SMTP.

I get this error: Failed to connect to smtp.mailersend.net:587 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection refused (code: -1, response🙂]

I also enabled Authentication Required and also Use Separate Authentication.

There seems to be some problem when trying to use external SMTP, I tried to test Gmail SMTP too, following your same problem video.

On the other hand, when I try an SMTP with port 25 it works but it goes into Spam, or even if I don't use external SMTP they go into spam.

I would like to understand if the problem is with the osticket script, or with the hosting where osticket resides, or the external SMTPs of gmail or others are not compatible.?

I ask how to solve this big problem, because I have followed all your guides but the problem persists. What solutions can I try?

Also, the reason Port 25 goes to spam is because it's a relay port. Relaying doesn't require authentication so it doesn't actually verify the sender so most (if not all) providers see it as spam. Never use Port 25 unless explicitly asked to by your mail provider - never a good idea.

Another thing is, don't use "Use Separate Authentication" unless you use a different Username/Password for SMTP vs IMAP/POP. If you use the same Username/Password for Fetching and Sending just Disable "Use Separate Authentication".

And finally, it'd be worth reaching out to your mail provider and have them check their logs to see why the connection is failing. It could be a firewall issue, TLS/SSL issue, whitelisting issue, your mail provider doesn't support Plain Authentication (which is required for osTicket), you have 2FA enabled for the email but haven't created an App Password for osTicket, etc. There are many reasons this could fail so contacting your mail provider whom has access to the logs would be most beneficial.

hola veo que la configuracion interna en el smtp.php apunta al puerto 25 , por eso no me reconoce el puerto 587 pero que mas se debe cambiar en el codigo fuente ?

We don't hard code 25, so if you put your own port it will use that instead. There is nothing you need to change in the source code. If you are having mail connection errors then please check your mailserver error logs, webserver error logs, webserver/mailserver firewall(s), etc.
