Error when sending mail via SMTP

Hi! Just setting up osticket from scratch to experiment before we start running it as live, but getting a 500 error in IIS when attemtping to configure SMTP/send out a mail via smtp,
Mail Sending: SMTP
PHP version: 7.4.1
Operating System: Microsoft-IIS/8.5

We've tried different things, tried using standard phpmailer but that doesn't work, everythings setup with the smtp fine, initially we had issues saving the password when creating the smtp-account, but copied the hash from the DB from another password and saved it manually hashed, so everythings setup correctly. But still getting the 500 error.
Looked around at other tickets, tried changing the timeout-settings for the fast-cgi but didn't change either.

Oh IIS you are so very descriptive with your errors (sarcasm). [Yes I run IIS also.]

Check your php.ini and see where you are sending your error_log to. The PHP error log might point us to what is actually going on.

Apologies for the late response, hope you had a good weekend! Sadly nothing, i assume due to the php crashing it doesn't dump anything in the error logs either, got other webapps running which are actively logging but nothing shows from the test we setup 🙁

have tried a different browser or computer and see if you get the same errors?

ramrajone Yes. We have tried running it both from the IIS and from external computors. Both chromiumbased browsers (edge, chrome) and firefox. So the problem is not located there.
