Unable to upgrade to v1.15.2

Hello everyone. I am currently doing a school project which involves AWS and osTicket. We were given an AMI with osTicket preinstalled inside (v1.10). I am now trying to upgrade it to v1.15.2 by following the video guide from here but I was hit with an error when I try to access the osTicket page on my browser (I think its port 443), which was a error code 500.

But when I replaced the v1.15.2 Upload folder with the old one, the page works.

I have 0 prior knowledge to any of these software skills/technology and am very clueless as to what is going on, but I will try my best to provide any information that is required to troubleshoot this. All I can provide as of now is that the server is running on Linux and the PHP version is 7.0.

edit: I skipped the first part of the guide on switching the osTicket offline and backing up databases as I only want to upgrade the version.

No idea what an "AMI" is.

jonw98 All I can provide as of now is that the server is running on Linux and the PHP version is 7.0.

1.15+ only supports PGP 7.2 to 7.4. This is likely why you are having an issue.

This is a good way to hose the entire ticket system and make it un-recoverable. You should always back up your database and your files so that you can fix it when/if it breaks when you are upgrading it.
