Failed Fileupload

Hello everybody,

two days ago, I installed a Win10 client with IIS to make some tests with osTicket. The installation was successfully and the system was working fine. Now i recognized a problem with the upload from files. Neither I can´t upload files to a ticket and i can´t change the logo on the webinterface for costumers. I recognize, that there are some PHP features who are not already acitvated on the Server.
Maybe this is the Problem?
I was trying to activate this extensions, but it doesn´t work.

Maybe you have/had the same problem and you can help me out?

Kevmaen I'm not sure why it's saying you need to upgrade given 1.14.1 is currently the most recent version 🤔 I'd advise enabling the fileinfo extension if you're going to be uploading files - after uncommenting the relevant extension line in php.ini, remember that you need to restart IIS for the changes to load.
Also, if you're getting access denied errors when trying to upload files, make sure the directory osTicket is running in (by default C:\inetpub) can be written to by the user account IIS is running under.

I don´t know what the problem is with the Version. The message is not showed the hole time. Sometimes it´s all alright.

I already did this a several times, but it doesn´t work. It Looks like, that the php.ini don´t "synchronize" with the IIS. My problem is, that i can´t install the PHPManager, because of our group policy.

Update:
I found my problem in sight of the extensions. I don´t know why, but the IIS is taking the php.ini-File from C:\Program Files\PHP\v7.0 and not from C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP.
I was editing the hole time the files in the x86 directory.

But sadly it doesn´t solve my problem with the attechments. There is already the error "File Upload Error - undefinde 500".

I found my problem in sight of the extensions. I don´t know why, but the IIS is taking the php.ini-File from C:\Program Files\PHP\v7.0 and not from C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP.
I was editing the hole time the files in the x86 directory.

IIS will be using the 64 bit version then - while it's not needed now, you can check which php.ini file is being used, and a whole load of other things, by creating a file containing the following:

phpinfo();
?>

Make sure to delete this file after you've finished with it, as if it's visible externally, it makes it a lot easier for an attacker to know what's going on.
I'm no IIS expert I'm afraid, but it sounds like something is misconfigured slightly if it's throwing a 500 error. Have you verified the IIS account has permission to write to the folder where the uploaded files are being stored? (temp folder location is also visible in the phpinfo file, although if you're using the attachments on the file system plugin, they'll be stored in the folder you specify there).

thank you for your reply.
Finally I made an upgrade to the new PHP-Version 7.4. Also the extensions are enabled now (fileinfo). Sadly the upload already doesn´t work.
In sight of the Folder for the attachments, I used/tryed both. No matter where I store the files, there is the same error.

When you make a change to your php.ini you have to restart IIS (same is true for Apache) for the changes to take effect.

osTicket does not support PHP 7.4 at this time, they only support up to 7.3.

I got it! The failure were the permissions on the temporary Folder for the attachments. It looks like, that our group policy was chanching the permissions on C:\Temp, what I was using for the tests.
I created a new folder and made the changes on the ini-file and now it´s working.

Because of PHP 4.7 - i don´t know. I thougt i will give it a try beause in the system requierments there is:
•Web Server: Apache or IIS
•PHP Version: 5.6+
•MySQL Database: 5.0+

Since now it´s working fine. 🙂
