Default Text Formatting

Hello All,

We recently upgraded to 1.14.1 With the upgrade to redactor as part of this version, we have noticed the default text formatting has changed to where when you put a single carriage return in a response it basically acts as if you have put in two carraige returns. The only way we have been able to get around this is the do shift+enter instead of just enter.

Is there a way to get the older default formatting back?

This change was done to fit most modern text editors. When you hit enter its double spacing instead of single spacing as that's how most modern text editors work. You are correct in that if you want single spacing you are supposed to do Shift + Enter. The only way to change this behavior is to edit Redactor's config.

I really wish there was a way to do that through the application. Additionally, this morning we are finding that unordered lists in redactor are not functioning properly. There is no way if you have to do an indention on an unordered list to have the next line not be indented in the list.

IE:

Test list
- Sub Item
Next Full Item
- Sub Item

I have to be honest, I'm not crazy about the "upgrade" to redactor. We were thinking about moving to the version of OSTicket but may be moving in a different direction now.

We love the new merge function though.

I also have to say that if you take a look at most modern email text editors, such as gmail or outlook, you will find that this is not the format they use.

And now I I'm trying to fix a typo and redactor is stuck in overtype mode so I am having to rewrite an entire thread. Please fix this this. We really like OST but the business with redactor is truly awful!

You could always create a feature request on our GitHub.

I also have to say that if you take a look at most modern email text editors, such as gmail or outlook, you will find that this is not the format they use.

The developer who implemented the redactor upgrade told me about the modern text editors thing (and no he did not mean email text editors) so I will have to ask him for clarification on what he meant exactly.

Are you using IE by chance? If so this browser is no longer supported.
