hi team, hope you are well.

whenever an agent uses the osticket scp to post a reply on a case, if a security group appears on the thread as a collaborator 'Microsoft outlook' will post:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
Call Center Leaders (ccleaders@domain.ro)<ccleaders>
Your message couldn't be delivered because delivery to this group is restricted to authenticated senders. If the problem continues, please contact your email admin.
Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server: MAIL2.domain.local
ccleaders@domain.ro
Remote Server returned '550 5.7.133 RESOLVER.RST.SenderNotAuthenticatedForGroup; authentication required; Delivery restriction check failed because the sender was not authenticated when sending to this group'

Any suggestions please?

In short you are trying to send an email to a Microsoft Email / Security Group.

The group is configured to disallow sending to the group by non-authenticated users.

If you want to send an email to the group the email (user) that is sending the message needs to be a member of the group. or the group needs to allow non-members to send to it.

This is a o365/Exchange configuration thing, not an osTicket thing.

hi Ntozier, i assumed as much, was just fishing for a possible work-around. the problem is that the sender of the email is , of course, one of the mailboxes used to covert mails to tickets. if i were to add it as a group member - chaos would ensue 🙂) . i take it that nothing else can be done in this case?
if not feel free to close the thread, thanks in advance

Setup another email? Use that for sending only.
Add that email address to the email group.
    -or-
remove the closed nature of the email group.

      Very welcome.

      Should I close this thread?
