[resolved] HTTP Error 500 after Installing newer Version of PHP

Hey Guys
I need help.
I wanted to update PHP on our Server (OS: Synology DSM) and installed PHP 7.2 while an older Version of PHP (PHP 5.6) was still running.
Now the site says HTTP Error 500 even after deinstalling the newer version to see if that fixed it.

Is there like a config file OSTicket has that defines what PHP Version its using? Because its baffling to me that it suddenly stopped working.
I cant find any Error-Logs from Apache, the Webserver its running and PHP.

FloF It's Apache that decides what version of PHP is being used - if you're not sure, the easiest way to check is to make a phpinfo file and look at all the relevant details there.
It's just a file in your web directory containing

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Remember to delete the file afterwards. If it's using 7.2 but not working, you might want to try reinstalling it - it's possible something went in the huff after uninstalling the earlier one while 7.2 was still installed.

Its using Version 5.6 but its not working. I uninstalled 7.2 because 5.6 was still installed. Then OSTicket stopped working and I uninstalled 7.2 to see if OSTicket would work again, but it doesnt.

FloF Sorry I mean I installed 7.2 while 5.6 was still installed. Thats why OSTicket stopped working. THEN I uninstalled 7.2 to see if that would fix it.

FloF Current issues aside, osTicket 1.12.x works better with PHP 7.x so if you're going to fix a problem, your efforts might as well be spent on PHP 7.2. If you remove 5.6 first, then install a fresh copy of 7.2 you should see the updated version and configuration file in your phpinfo. If not, then it's the Apache config that'll need looked at.

I admit I've never seen an issue with different versions of PHP causing errors (they can usually quite happily coexist), although I'm not familiar with Synology DSM either to be honest.
