We are running the latest version of OsTicket on a LAMP stack and currently have Nginx disabled on the system. Most of our other web servers have Nginx running for performance reasons, but we read on these forums a while back that OsTicket does not support Nginx. I was just curious if others are running Nginx without issue or if there are specific reasons (incompatibility, etc. ) why Nginx is not recommend for a server running OsTicket.

Thoughts?

nginx will not work out of the box with osTicket. However, it can be made to work - there are a few threads over on Github with changes that can be made to allow this.

However, officially it isn't supported and without these manual changes, it will encounter problems.

Correct. We do not support nginx.

You can still use it if you want to, but there are numerous configuration level changes that you have to make to it to get it to work. There are threads over on github detailing the config changes it you want to try it.

I wouldn't bother, personally. If you really needed to improve your osTicket performance, why not upgrade your web hosting package?

If you do decide to run osTicket using nginx, if and when you run into an issue don't forget to try disabling nginx to see if doing so resolves the issue.

(Over in the osTicket Awesome forum I've had users report weird issues that, after spinning my wheels for some time trying to figure out, where eventually resolved by having them switch back to Apache).
