Hello! For 1.12 Stable there are 3 things about Redactor that I'm not sure how to fix:

1) How would I increase the default text area size in the Redactor editor?

2) When I copy and paste into the response, extra characters are added to the html so the pasted text is just an empty box. I have to copy the text to a text file or into the terminal first, then from that, copy into the editor.

3) When you press enter in the response it adds extra lines so I'm always having to go back and remove those extra lines so there isn't so much space between sentences. It's like it's adding extra carriage returns.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

1) You would edit the core files to increase the size.
This thread tells you how to do it for the assignment modal. It should give you an idea how to do it for others.

2) I get the same issue. I simply delete the extraneous lines. Alternatively I copy and paste into something else (like notepad) and then copy and paste from notepad to the ticket system and it does not add the extra lines.

3) Not sure what this means. I just tried to get this to happen and could not.

Hello! Thank you so much for the tips! Yes - I've been pasting to the Terminal shell then copying that into the tracker. It's just an extra step that I'd rather not do but for now it's a good workaround. For number 3 it's the spacing of the carriage returns but maybe it's something with the line height? Maybe I can look through some files to see the default size. Thanks for the tips!

For #1 I made an entry in scp/css/scp.css and added in .redactor-editor { ... height: 250px}

For #2 if I toggle the html button in the editor I can copy & paste fine without needing to copy into the Terminal first
It also depends on what browser I'm using - sometimes I don't need to do this.

For #3 I added js/redactor-osticket.js inside redact = $.redact = function(el, options) {
I added the option 'breakline': true,

Thanks for posting this, i'm having the exact same issue, however i'm trying to figure out exactly where the line you mentioned (breakline: true) goes.

are you able to provide a current line number from the page

I tried adding @ line 367 inside var options but no effect

Sadly my js knowledge is basically non existent
