When I try to add email address, I get an error message relating to IMAP settings and hostname. I have checked these IMAP settings are correct i.e. this is working email address. In addition, I get an error message regarding hostname which your system does not recognize. It really exists and is correct. How to fix this issue? Please see a screenshot below.
Adding email address fails
This may seem like I'm asking the obvious here, but does the server osTicket is running on have valid DNS servers set in the network config? Sounds like it's an issue somewhere trying to resolve the name.
Actually, I've just noticed the tags on this post. You're not really running version 1.5 or below are you?? ? 1.12 is the current version, and 1.5 stopped being supported ages ago.
Looks like a DNS issue to me.
Thanks for replies. I used Track DNS feature where this Domain Lookup is on cPanel. Its status is no error, so it is working ok. osTicket version installed on the server is v1.12.
Do you perhaps have a firewall enabled in cPanel that's restricting the SSL IMAP traffic?
petrrez I used Track DNS feature where this Domain Lookup is on cPanel.
And yet you are getting "No such host at lh41.dnsireland.com". (note the text is small and kinda blurry but thats what it looks like to me). That tells me that when it tries to nslookup that hostname it is failing.
Can you SSH or Telnet into the server and issue nslookup lh41.dnsireland.com
and see what happens?
This was the result of nslookup command:
Hey ntozier,
Am getting an error as per the attached, please advise where i am going wrong
Does the email login information have to be admin credentials to mail server or i can use any email address with its right password?
The server is saying access forbidden. The account that you are using does not appear to have permission to talk to that server. You have to use an account that has permission or grant the permissions to the account.
