Plugins do not install - They show, but do not install

Attempting to install the plugins, and they do not.

You click install, the screen for loading cycles, and then takes you back to the currently installed plugins page.

I have check the permissions on the plugins directory, and I believe they are correct. (Not %100 sure what they should be, but they match the rest of the system, and I even tried for trouble shooting steps to give them 777, then reverted back to what they had because I saw no difference)

I did install a language pack to confirm that would work, and it does!

Not sure what logs I would look at for this.

I took a VMware snapshot of one of the servers and went ahead and put osTicket v1.11.0-rc1 (e321982) on it.

Once that was installed, plugins work and install like they should

I'm curious, if 1.11 is even worth trying in production? If not, I will roll back the snapshot.

Just taking a look at 1.11, and I will say, some of the features of 1.11 are spot on and super nice, makes me want to talk to our small department of 10 agents / users and have them take a look and see if they want to try it understanding we most likely might have some bugs.

I bet that you are having problem because you are using php7. PHP7 support is coming out with 1.11. We recommend PHP 5.6 currently for running osTicket.

Q: I'm curious, if 1.11 is even worth trying in production?
1.11 has not been released yet. You installed a release candidate (specifically rc1)

Hmm, I guess I keep getting mixed impressions about php7. I have read in two different posts where I believe you said that php7 is currently supported with OSTICKET 1.10.x

osTicket 1.10+ already supports php7.x It does not support php7.1.x. I'm not sure what the differences are between the two but yes it is my understanding that it requires changes to the core files of osTicket

I ran php7. I had to jump through a couple hoops to get things working. Specifically I ran 7.0.x.
The problem is that new (higher) versions of 7.0.x function are more like 7.1+.
PHP 7.1.x is a different beast. Not supported until 1.11 is released.
PHP 7.2.x is also a different beast. Not supported until 1.11 is released.

One of the devs clearly stated that osTicket 1.10 does not support php7. While I feel that was not necessarily true as I think php7 worked just fine. It is true that now some 7.0.x and definitely all 7.1+ causes issues. A dev's answer is more official than me (a forum moderator).

note: I reverted to 5.6 because it just seemed to work better.

Ok, so here is what I have done. I brought up another server (osTicket - v1.10.4-111-g19712cd8 (19712cd)
) with PHP 5.6.38, migrated the database over from the completed 1.10.4.x upgrade while on PHP 7. System Loads and is useable, however I still have the issue with the plugins not installing. They do the same thing as stated above.

osTicket - v1.10.4-111-g19712cd8 (19712cd)
Web Server Software - Apache
MySQL Version - 5.6.41
PHP Version - 5.6.38

I find it odd, that when I upgrade to 1.11(RC 1) the plugins install with no issue. Only when I'm at the current level.

My next step will be to revert from the git-clone and do the straight download again I guess and see what happens.

Unless you have another idea?

I manually created the record in the MySQL ost_plugin table, once that was done, I could configure it and save it and it now works.....

Curious why the 0.6.3 auth-ldap.phar file has a non existent / non discoverable domain DNS

( "pear-pear.php.net/Net_LDAP2") in the plugin.php (Extracted auth-ldap.phar (Line 14 and 17)

shouldn't this be

LOL Actually fixed the "plugins not installing" issue this morning:

Fix applies to both 1.10.4 and 1.11-RC1.
