I wrote a plugin for something like that: https://github.com/clonemeagain/osticket-plugin-mentioner doesn't use a button, but their names.
So in a note, or reply, using:
@[deleted] would add as a collaborator and notify you.
#azmah would send an email notifying you of the mention.
My agents like it.
