I have a ticket field in osticket. I need to add 1020 site names into it. But it only allow me to enter like 925 names. After that if I copy more names to it all the names are disappearing. IF there any limit or how can I fix this?
Without confirming it, most of these behaviors are due to mysql table design.
So if you change the max character count it should let you save more.
Thank you so much for your answer. But I don't know how to do mysql ?where can I find it?
It'll depend on what software you're using to host the site, if you have phpmyadmin that's probably the easiest. And yes it seems that the configuration field is of type TEXT which holds 2^16 bytes, if you want to keep more data you'll have to switch to MEDIUMTEXT which will hold 2^24 bytes.
Yeah.. it stores that as JSON I think.. which is going to expand it further. You might need to redesign how this is added. Maybe lists would work? is that what lists are for?
I don't use Choices fields. When they first came out they didn't seem to work right, so I only use Lists.
Thank you all for your advices. I don't see a list option here. How to add it? I got short answer, long answer, date and time, phone number, check box, choices etc. These are the things I see under types.
Admin panel -> Manage -> Lists
I have created lists and created a custom list. Now I can add all the sites. In the field configurations I have set it to typeahead. Now I can search all the sites. But when I am going to update ticket it shows me error calling please select a value. It works with dropdown. Problem is there are like 1000 sites . Is there a way to fix typeahead problem?
Error message?Version of osTicket?Other environment details?
I have a similar problem.I created two lists users email and one with full user names. In the user registration form, both fields email and full name are typeheads .When I click the save button, it returns one or both errors.1. Full name is necessary2. Email is necessary. In one attempt I was just returning the error message about the email.I noticed that the ost_user table contained the record for the user but in the field default_email_id there was no valueThe ost_user_email table did not have a record with the user's mail. The problem I think occurs either when registering an entry in the table or the registration form is not stored in the field variable the value from the lists.I'm sorry about the bad English
The problem is identified in the guest form.

Ok. Sorry about that. Typehead is the recommended option for long lists. Right? I have selected it in the ticket details configuration. Please find below photo.
After selecting Typerhead I can search and select the site by typing name. Please find below scrrenshots. The problem is when I am trying to update the ticket details it's giving me an error.
