I installed the OS 1.0 core on Go Daddy hosting server. Say our site is domain.com. The problem lies when I set up an email alert for my agent and he never gets an email from OS. His email account is the domain of the site. For example: smah@domain.com.  Seems to me, this email is flagged as spam and Go Daddy Relay server never forward this email alert to his inbox.Your advice would be greatly appreicated.

According to other posts here on the forum the problem is GoDaddy.  They block certain ports and/or have a security rule that breaks things.  You will either need to talk to GoDaddy Support, or find a different host, or google the threads I mentioned and see what their solution was. Here are a couple of the other threads that I found quickly:http://forum.osticket.com/d/discussion//getting-email-imap-smtp-working-godaddy

Thanks!I have a quick question about this screenshot with red highlight. Also, the screenshot with black highlight and this email address is different from the first one. Since both emails are different, does this person from the screenshot with red highlight gets an e-mail?

You blocked out the emails... there is no way that anyone can possibly answer your question.

What?I don't want to show these  2 email addresses in public.I used ab@domain.com on "Department" screenshot and 123@domain.com on " Ticket Setting and Option" screenshot. My question is the person from "Department" screenshot gets an email alert?

Your first question is to vague to be answered."Since both emails are different, does this person from the screenshot with red highlight gets an e-mail? "Your second question is also to vague to be answered."My question is the person from "Department" screenshot gets an email alert?"reason: there is no "person" in the "Department" screenshot.  There are 4 department names, and no Department Settings.I'll presume that your talking about when a user generates a new ticket you want to know who will get notified.  According to your New Ticket Alert settings: Unless you have Department settings that contradict this, the Admin, the Department's manager, and Department Members.

Yes.

According

to your New Ticket Alert settings: Unless you have Department settings

that contradict this, the Admin, the Department's manager, and

Department Members. When there is no person/manager + setting, there's no email to to send out. Correct? So what that email under Email Address in red block does? Nothing?

Q: When there is no person/manager, there's no email to to send out. Correct? No, that is not correct.  It would still generate an email to the Admin.Q:So what that email under Email Address in red block does? Nothing? You have not provided us with the information that anyone would need to answer that.  You configured them in osTicket (I would presume) for a reason.  I have no idea what you are using them for.  Perhaps the outgoing departmental emails?

answer that.  You configured them in osTicket (I would presume) for a

reason.  I have no idea what you are using them for.  Perhaps the

outgoing departmental emails? Sorry, I am not sure what info should I provide. That email was used at the start of the installation.  Later on, I deleted this person by mistake. Right now, the admin is the email from "Ticketing and Option" screenshot. Also, this admin is the only "person".

You appear to be talking about departments (with email addresses) as if they were people.

Maybe I should say user not person. :-)I unchecked myself as an OS administrator option.  There's no agent added. I guess I am the user.  Now I can't check my Agent panel. My OS is 1.0 core. Is there still a way to get this Admin feature back?

Update the ost_staff table.Change the isadmin column for your account to a 1.

Can you please provide me more detail to this solution of where and what file should I update?

1. open the database using your choice of 3rd part database editing software2. open the table: ost_staff3. Locate the column for your account.4. Change the isadmin column for your account to a 1.-or-1. open the MySQL CLI 2. type the following command and hit enter:   Connect <yourdatabase name>;3. type the following command and hit enter:  SELECT staff_id FROM ost_staff WHERE username='<YOUR USERNAME>';note: this is to confirm that you do the right one only.4. type the following command and hit enter:UPDATE staff_id SET isadmin='1' WHERE staff_id='YOUR STAFF ID';-or- if you want to skip step three you can do:UPDATE ost_staff SET isadmin='1' WHERE username='<YOUR USERNAME>';You should receive a affected rows: 1 as a result.
