Hey folks,is it recommended to Upgrade? And how stable is the rc.3? Can i directly upgrade from this version and does it works like a normal Update described in http://osticket.com/wiki/Upgrade_and_migration ? Do i need the update script described in the link? Thanks for your reply!

Q: is it recommended to Upgrade?A: It is always recommended to upgrade from any version to a STABLE release.  It is not generally recommended to upgrade from a STABLE to a RELEASE CANDIDATE.Q: And how stable is the rc.3?A: I'm not sure how you would want us to answer that.  Compared to RC2 its very stable.  Compared to a stable version it is not.  It is a release candidate (Beta) for a reason.Q: Can i directly upgrade from this version and does it works like a normal Update described in http://osticket.com/wiki/Upgrade_and_migration ?A: It would be like performing a normal upgrade.  I would recommend the following (dated) article for the basics: http://www.tmib.net/upgrading-osticket-1812-current-19rcQ: Do i need the update script described in the link?A: If the upgrade script is required it will run automatically when you log in after installing the new code.  I'm not sure about 1.9.14 to 1.10rc3 because I haven't gone from that version to that version.  But my 1.9.7 to 1.10rc2 performed some upgrade script stuff.

Thank you ntozier for you reply. Do you know when the STABLE version auf 1.10 will be released? I would love to work with the new feature "tasks" but in a productive environment i'm a litte bit shy to upgradeā€¦

Q: Do you know when the STABLE version auf 1.10 will be released?A: When the devs decide that it is done and stable enough to be released as stable.  I know that's not a particularly helpful answer, but it's really the only response that your going to get to that question.

Upgrade was very easy just copy all the new files overwriting and follow the instructions of the upgrade guide. All worked since yet very well.

Glad to hear it. :)
