Prevent of moving attachments to database while upgrade from 1.6ST to 1.9.12

Hi,my customer has osticket in version 1.6ST and he needs to upgrade to the newest, the problem is that he has over 11 GB of attachments. When I test this localy I saw that the upgrade script (probably when patch 1.7 is running) is trying to move attachments to DB and it stops with erros, becasuse attachments set are to large. We don't want to store attachments in DB. I saw on this forum that plugin called Storage-FS exists and takes attachments from DB to filesystem storage, but my question is:Is it possible to "skip" moving attachments to DB while upgrading (when I skip attachments the upgrade works great without errors), then install the plugin Storage-FS and attachments will be available as before?

Never upgraded from 1.6 nor used 1.6, so I guess that is a question for super forum moderator @[deleted]! ;)

The only way that I can think of that might prevent this... would be to pre-install the Storage :: Attachments on the Filesystem plugin. You can get the plugin from http://osticket.com/download/I don't know if you can... since the db structure is so different. Also how the files are stored (by the plugin) is totally different from the old flat directory also. 1.6ST is so old that its not even supported anymore. If this were me. I think that I would either rename the attachment folder to skip importing them all.... Or drastically increase the script time out in my php.ini and let em go (You can migrate them back out afterwards), or now might be a time to consider removing any attachments that are older then say 6 months?This is a great question, and I'm a little annoyed that I don't have a better answer for you.
