API usage from unknown IPs

We want to develop a mobile application that osTicket registered users could use in order to post/read tickets from their mobile devices. Can the API be modified in order to accept connections like this? Can the API be used so customers can see their tickets in their mobile app? Thank you in advance!

The API only opens tickets at this time... so no.

The API is still being worked on. There are plans to expand it.I have no idea when the devs will get to that though.
