I would remove the "Preferences" from the user registration page, which consists of a "Select" and a "Checkbox", as this will confuse some users at registration. Does anyone know any way to remove this field or hides it?Thanks!

Is not there a way to set this timezone by the script? as it will use the system with a single timezone, it would not need the user to select, as would already be set.
No. you would have to perform custom alterations to the code to remove the timezone you want removed, and specify the one you want.
