Captcha not showing - v1.9.12

All,I have OSTicket v1.9.12 installed. I enabled the option "Enable CAPTCHA on new web tickets" under Admin->Settings->Tickets. GD extensiion is loaded in php.ini file and I verified it by creating a php info file and everything related to GD library looks enabled. In fact, when I browse to www.mydomain.com/captcha.php (the default captcha file shipped with OSTicket) it loads the captcha image successfully, hitting refresh on the browser window loads a new image every-time. So, that confirms the CAPTCHA itself is working but I just don't see the CAPTCHA image displayed anywhere when attempting to open a ticket.What am I missing to get the CAPTCHA working? Haven't ever used the captcha option in osTicket, but my guess is that maybe something goes wrong in the background and so my suggestions are the followings:- Disable captcha option, save it, re-enable captcha option and save it again (maybe it was not saved correctly in the database?)- Check your PHP error if there are any errors listed why the captcha is not showing

@[deleted] - Thanks for your reply. This is the first time I am enabling Captcha as well. I have tried enabling/disabling the Captcha option mutliple times. I also see no php errors reported on the log related to this issue. I am puzzled at this stage... as I mentioned in my original post the captcha does work when I visit captcha.php file directly. It just does not show up during ticket creation in the ticket portal (almost as if I am missing some captcha related code in the open.php file).@[deleted] - Thanks for the screenshot. I at least now know what to expect when it works... but below is what my screen looks like (even with the Captcha option enabled). See attached image.

I cannot tell... are you looking at it on the user (client) side or the agent (staff) side?

@[deleted] Until now I have never used the captcha feature. But I have noticed that the captcha will only be displayed when you are not logged in.Maybe you are logged in. Log out and try again the "new ticket"-button to see if this makes a difference..

@[deleted] - I am looking at the user (client) side.@[deleted] - That's interesting... Yes, I was logged in as a user when I did all the previous tests. I now logged out and clicked on "open a new ticket" and it prompts me to log in (as we only allow registered users to open tickets). Still no Captcha to be seen anywhere... It would actually make sense if OSTicket included CAPTCHA during log-in as it will be another layer of protection from brute-force attacks and unnecessary log entries.

@[deleted] I'm not really sure but I guess that the capture is for the case if clients are allowed to open tickets without logging in. Maybe @[deleted] or @[deleted] know better..

Sounds correct to me what @[deleted] said above. So when a user is logged in, no captcha is displayed, when a user is not logged in it shows up and prevents bots etc. creating tickets.

Ok Thanks for all your help. I guess I was trying to get something to work although it wasn't designed to be working that way :-) Hopefully this post will help others to make this scenario clear. At some point it would be still a nice to have if OSTicket supports CAPTCHA at the login screen. It doesn't have to be mandatory for all, it can be an option if some people chose to have it.
