Is there any way to implement the mulitple parent/child categories for Help Topic with multiple drop down lists instead of being in one long list? We're setting our OSTicket installation up to handle multiple programs within our organization, each of which has their own help topics pertinent to the programs, but have the need to keep the selection lists for our users as short as possible, which means removing anything that doesn't relate to them. It's a school, so as an example, we wouldn't want a grade 7 learner seeing options that relate to high school courses or graduationCurrently we're having to set up "help topics" as each of our programs, and then use a customized form to give them a choice list for each of the actual help topics. I'm then having to create filters based on their form choices to route requests where they need to go.While this will work, it negates the usability of having different thank you pages that link to relevant information based on their combination of program and topic. As I'm sure you can imagine, it's also pretty messy and negates some of the features (statistics and custom thank you pages) that we'd really like to be able to use properly. Not to mention the mess of having to change it in the future.... oiSo what I'm hoping is that instead of the parent/child combinations looking like they do by default, there is a mod out there that will allow this to be converted to two drop downs, so they can select the Parent first (which would be the program) and then select the specific help topic, instead of having a list of 80 help topics they have to go through. Exactly like it does with pulling up custom forms (you select a topic, the right form comes up), only this would be for the help topic selections.
