Do you happen to have a screenshot of what you are referring to? A little difficult to understand which checkbox :)
These little orange checkboxes.
I think the color depends on the operating system and/or browser used to view the settings.For example under MAC OS these checkboxes are blue, under Windows they are grey and I guess your checkboxes are orange since you're using Ubuntu.

Totally correct on that one. I am using a mac and my checkboxes are blue.
