Hi, I want to include Google Analytics to track event

Please help me with this issue, I want to send an event to Google Analytics just after somebody clic "open ticket" and see Your ticket number is.... I saw several manuals and this is the code to add_gaq.push();I wish you can advise the file and line where I can put this code. Thank you very much in advance

So /include/client/header.inc.php

You have not provided us enough information to possibly give you line number.I imagine that you would want to put it in the open.php .... AFTER Ticket:.

The 2 versions you are seeing have to do with if you are using the standard google analytics platform or universal analytics.Make sure you have the appropriate one or it will not work.A side point eventually everythin g will be universal analytics and you will have to swap out your code.Now to the matter at hand just add an onclick handler to the <a> tag like <a onclick="ga('send', 'Sent_Form', 'Submit', 'My Support Form');" href""></a>

Thanks yisrael, and dozier,I'm using Universal Analytics, and yes, I want to put one handler but After Ticket:, because if you just click on the submit button may be is not enough and you do it again if you have errors filling the fields.Please help me to find an appropiate handler and the correct line to put it.(better if it is in open.php)thanks in advance

I sounds like you are trying to fire the event server side as ticket: is php code.in that case you cannot use the aforementioned code you need to use GA php library which you can find in the admin section of your GA account.

I don't recommend you do that.

To deal with errors just add the js code into the form validation function or setup a callback after the validation runs

I do recommend it however you cannot fire javascript on your server (unless using something like node.js etc..)therefore you need to fire it in the browser by finding a browser event to hang it on.ticket: is a server function not a browser function

I make code to open one thanks page after create ticket, so I can track this, but I want to do this with another method.If we resolve this issue any user of osticket could use this in their own site places!Ga with php is no more supported by Google so please help me to find a better way.thanks in advance

You could use measurement protocol https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/protocol/v1/.

However if you don't want to mess with it, which you probably shouldn't unless you really know what you are doing , you have no choice but to use JavaScript and use an event handler like I mentioned earlier.
