I am running osTicket 1.6.0 on my localhost using wamp for php/mysql on a windows machine.
I have set up my smtp settings as
SMTP Host = mail.MyDomain.co.uk (working email)
SMTP Port = 587
Authentication = yes
(not sure what other settings you need so if youdo need any please just let me know what you need.)
The problem lies in enabling the settings for smtp.When I click enable, I get a white screen that never seems to go anywhere. on the settings page it says to be patient as it tries to log into the smtp server so to be patient but how long is patient?? I've left it over an hour and it never updates. Because I cant enable these settings I cant get OsTicket to send out emails to users or to admin staff. Receiving emails to the email account registered with OsTicket works fine and any emails received by this email address updates OsTicket so a ticket is created for it but no matter what i do i cant get the smtp for outgoing emails enabled. Ive been through these posts and while ive seen other people with problems sending ... no-one seems to be having problems with the enabling of the settings, I've followed a few of the walk-throughs to a few problems I've seen but i never get the same results as my smtp settings are not enabled. I am receiving no errors in the php log file (ie error_logs.php) and I receive no errors in the browser.

Any helpin resolving this matter would be very much appreciated.
*update*
When creating a ticket using the browser as opposed to sending to the email address registered in the email account options ... this also creates a ticket but no email is sent to the email address of the account registered.
Im not sure if this extra info is of any use but i figured i if include it and it isn't needed there is nothing lost.
