We run into a very curious issue with Chrome browser. When users are trying to login from the Chrome browser they are redirected back to the login page. All other browsers work without issues. We tracked this issue down to a synchronization issue between the HTTP redirect and DB update. When user logs in to submit a ticket, they submit user ID and password to the login.php page, this page issues a redirect to open.php page and updates the ost_session table with the user session data. Chrome, unlike other browsers, will follow the redirect link before the complete page is loaded. Because of this open.php page is loaded at the same time as ost_session is being updated by login.php and gets the old session value from ost_session table. This old value indicates that this user is logged out (has not been updated by login yet). Because of this, the user returns to the login form. This issue is easily reproducible with the slow DB connection and the fast connection to the web site.To resolve this issue we have removed the flush() calls from Http: function. The better fix would be not to redirect the client browser until all DB updates are complete.
