For the first question, create a subdomain (helpdesk.mydomain.com) after a proper installation as the mydomain.com/upload directory should present you with an error.For the second question, you can change the appearance of the landing page under Manage > Pages and altering the Landing page. However, if installed properly, if a user clicks the "Create Ticket" button it will ask for a login and password. To the left, it will give 2 options to Register, or Login as Agent. To prevent people from self registering, go to Settings > Access > Registration Method and make sure it is set to Private - Only Agents can register Users.Alternatively, make the homepage helpdesk.mydomain.com/scp and forward helpdesk.mydomain.com to that /scp location.
