Not Found cannot continue with setup

I have installed osTicket a couple times now to try out the product and have had no problems until now. No matter what I do, I cannot continue with the browser setup portion of the install, all I get is a Not found page.What I have done so far:-Installed fresh install of Ubuntu server 14.04 with LAMP-Downloaded osTicket-1.8-1.94.tar.gz-Extracted the tar package and copied the contents to /var/www/support-changed ost-sampleconfig.php to ost-config.php-changed permissions of ost-config.php to 777-Tried <server IP>/supportThat is pretty much every osTicket install tutorial out there but cannot proceed from there. Any assistance on where to look is appreciated.Thanks in advance.

I don't think that's what the docs say to do. If I recall correctly, you should have only uploaded (or copied, if on the same host as the archive) the contents of the "upload" folder (not the folder itself, but the contents).Jack

When I downloaded the zip file it had an upload directory ando I copied only the contents with the same results. In the tar file I don't see an upload directory.

Despite the fact I have no idea what the problem could be, let me just tell you that it is recommended to get osTicket from the following down load page:

I started over with my Ubuntu server with LAMP packages. I downloaded osTicket-v1.9.4.zip from http://osticket.com/download/go?dl=osTicket-v1.9.4.zip and followed the instructions exactly from http://forum.osticket.com/d/discussion//simple-install-instructions.I am still getting the same result.

Everybody thinks they "followed the instructions exactly". Exactly what did you upload (or extract) into your osTicket directory?--OR--Just reply with the line from your httpd access (or error) log that shows this particular 404 error. This will give us info on the file structure that is causing the "Not found". Feel free to sanitize it to remove your domain info if you like.Jack

The instructions say to extract the zip file into /var/www then go to the include directory which I found at /var/www/upload/include and make the change of ost-include.sample.php to ost-include.php. You are right they weren't followed exactly because ost-include.sample.php didn't exist but ost-sampleconfig.php did which was changed to ost-include.My apache error log shows me trying to access both <my ip>/upload/include/setup and <my ip>/setup

I don't know what instructions you're reading, but that's why you're getting the 404 Not found errors.You don't need the whole zip file in /var/www. Extract it to a temporary location, and then just move the CONTENTS of the upload folder (NOT the upload folder itself) into the web directory you want to serve this content from. That's what my instructions said.Jack

I have tried both extracting the entire contents as well as just the contents to the www directory.

Ok, I found what I was doing wrong. It had nothing to do with any of the instructions I was following. I found that there was a change in a recent version of Ubuntu/Apache where the pages are no longer locate in /var/www they now have to be one deeper in /var/www/html.

They're wherever you want them, specified in the httpd.conf file or its included files. You're in control of that.But, glad you found the answer.Jack

I know I am in control of where my files are located. I was putting them were the defaults used to be and haven't set up a web page in a while so I didn't think I would have to put them somewhere else.
