Sorting dept drop down box

Hello

im really happy for the osticket and it is very usefull.

Ive translated my osticket to danish and the problem is when im trying to create a new ticket, then in the "Category" dept drop down box ive also translated that and added more categories.

As everybody knows the alpabet is from A-Z and thats the thing i want to change

beacuse my categories are

Andet (Other)

Anmeldelse (Report)

and some others that is with the letter F-H-S

the problem i got is that i want to move Andet (other) to the bottom and not to the top, and it is beacuse of its alphabetic sorting...

ive tryed to look around the php files and try edit something but it wont help at all.

Hope you can help me with my issue!

This cannot be done with in the settings of OSTicket, and would require you to modify the source directly to achieve this goal. If you are familiar with MySQL and PHP by all means take a quick look at:

/include/staff/newticket.inc.php

on lines 58 through 67.

You would probably have to change something similar on the client side as well (but I didn't look to confirm this). You may be better off asking this question in the mod area.

Like I said you would need to be familiar with MySQL and PHP to change it.

You can try changing 'ORDER BY dept_name' to 'ORDER BY dept_id', that might change it to function in the way that you want it to. As it would order the entries based on the numeric value of the department Id instead of alphabetically by department name.

note: I haven't done this, and I'm not sure if it would impact anything else elsewhere in the code.
