[resolved] Need help with setup

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2IIS: v7PhP: 5.3.21MySQL: 5.5.29I'm currently running an install of moodle(LMS application) on this server.Followed the basic instructions in the wiki - dowloaded, unzipped files from the upload folder into the site directory.When I try to navigate to the setup folder to invoke the script I get a 500.19 error (C:\inetpub\osticket\smsu\web.config)Looking at php error logs - I see nothing at all logged for this, only logs that relate to the moodle installation.Is there any reason OSticket can't exist alongside another PhP application?Wiki doesn't say anything at all about a PhP configuration - other than PhP needs to be installed.Any help at all appreciated-Josh

It might help to post the output of phpinfo.php (if it's on your system). Other than that, the 500.19 error generally signals a server misconfiguration. I'd Google that and see if anything helps. Are you trying to run multiple virtual hosts? There may be a conflict in the host config files.Jack

I don't see any serious issues with your php itself. I think you have an IIS configuration issue that's completely unrelated to osTicket, other than the possibility that you added a new virtual host for it. But I'm guessing. You missed my question about virtual hosts.Jack

As far as the site bindings(vitrual host) go, everthing appears to work fine.setup a biding for smsutech.higherdigital.com along with the DNS server entries to support it.Pinging smsutech.higherdigital.com returns the hostname of the webserver.-Josh

smsutech.higherdigital.com - name of the site under which I'm trying to setup OS ticket.lacmoodle.com is the only other site on this server.

Ok, but there could be conflicts or errors within your IIS setup that conflict, causing the 500 errors. Again, we have nothing to indicate an osTicket issue. What happens if you temporarily clear the osTicket directory, and put a simple index.php file there? I'd be curious to know if it works, or throws an error.Jack

nope, http://smsutech.higherdigital.com/index.php (standard hello world php) redirects to lacmoodle.comhttp://smsutech.higherdigital.com/phpinfo.php does actually return phpinfo...no idea what's going on.

I'm wondering if the 500.19 is being caused by a redirect loop. That's a common server misconfiguration.Jack

HTTP redirect isn't even enabled as a role in IIS 7...So I'm really lost as to how this is even redirecting...

I'm an Apache guy, but maybe someone with IIS expertise will be along shortly. Meanwhile, I'd suggest using Google to search for "IIS 500.19 error" and see if that helps.Jack

Have you tried not using the web,config that comes with osT?

Ended up being a problem with php.ini config issue as it relates to IIS...that god rid of the redirect problem. Also - the default web.config was screwing with things. Renamed it, and the installation went smoothly. Hope that won't cause issues in the future.Thanks much for the quick help though.-Josh

Very welcome. I personally delete the web.config when I do a new install (and upgrades) on my own servers. :)I'll mark this as resolved and close it.
